You may have seen this gorgeous angel face on the site recently, both rocking the hell out of our 1970’s inspired product and kicking major ass in our Riot Grrrl Lookbook. We get inside the mind of model and musician Kayla Blackmon, a.k.a the coolest girl we’ve ever met. We’re literally obsessed with her because not only is she gorgeous on the outside, but has the shiniest personality to boot! Read on to learn more about her and listen to her tunes!
On her personality: “I’m 24 from Los Angeles, a new transplant to the east coast! I’m a cosmic Pisces free spirit who just wants to want nothing at all. After the passing of my older brother 7 years ago, I set out the goal to live every single day like it was my last.”
On her music: “Most times I can be soft spoken and shy so I use music as a tool to express my personal thoughts, feelings and experiences. My songs, all written by me, are like open diaries for people to really get to know who I am and to also relate to.”
On modeling for GW: “I feel like when people take chances, their whole world start to shift into place, and that’s what happened when I moved to NY. Working with Gypsy Warrior was a true work of the cosmos aligning. Being surrounded by passionate women in charge was so inspiring and empowering. I truly appreciated the style and aesthetic of Gypsy warrior not only because the really great clothes and accessories but also because of the lifestyle the brand conveys.”
