by Corinne, Haleigh and Meaghan

So, you’ve gone to the festival, you spent the day romping through a field and listening to your fave bands. You’ve come back to the hotel (or the tent!) and you’re ready to get yourself together for a night of partying and looking fabulous. Peep our picks for all-black evening goth looks that are summery enough to carry you through the warm weather, but chic enough to take you to any type of party you’re heading to!

Meaghan’s Formal Look:

MEGFORMAL5

Meaghan’s formal look is super versatile and breezy for festival season. You can throw it on over something as simple as a slip or bathing suit and be ready to go!

MEGFORMAL1

Meg chose to accessorize with high waisted shorts and a very straightforward bralette, but you can layer this in so many ways; tights, leggings, tank tops, a long sleeve tee for chillier evenings. Toss on a chic kimono to keep the look boho, or layer with a pleather jacket and toughen it up.

MEGFORMAL2

Meg chose to rock some strappy heels with this look, but you can truly wear any shoes with this dress. Gladiator sandals, platforms, booties, or even Docs will all go well with it. Black lace is our fave way to wear see through patterns!

MEGFORMAL3  MEGFORMAL6

For Meg’s makeup, she kept her look classic glam. Flawless skin, red matte lips, strong brows and a slight cat-eye and you’re ready to go. Quick tip: feeling a little slick but forgot your blotting papers? One ply toilet paper or toilet seat covers do the trick just fine! If you’ve got two ply TP handy, pull it apart and it’ll double as a blotting sheet in a pinch.

Corinne’s Formal Look:

CORINNEFORMAL2

For all you small-boobed curvy babes, this is a dress you can rock with literally no thought. Corinne used to feel self-conscious about her small tatas until she realized this allowed her to wear super deep V-necks (like this one!) without being concerned with bra issues. Not for the faint of heart, but then again Corinne is pretty outlandish in her fashion choices (just look at the hair for proof!)

CORINNEFORMAL1

To accessorize this all black ensemble and bring it to a weirder place, Corinne strapped on the Luna choker and grabbed a black Pyramid clutch. The upside of a clutch like this is that you can clip any press passes or backstage passes to the handle and keep everything together!

CORINNEFORMAL3

As for shoes, when Corinne saw these holographic moon and star booties she knew she had met her shoe twin.

CORINNEFORMAL4

The back of the dress is super conservative, and at first glance appears like a floor-length spaghetti strap maxi. But the big reveal happens when you turn around. Hello, stunner!

CORINNEFORMAL5

To let the whole effect of the dress really shine, you need some SERIOUS confidence. If you’re not self-assured in your looks it will be much harder to pull off something this out-of-this-world, but once you let your freak flag fly and learn to love your body as it is you’ll have WAY more fun!

Haleigh’s Formal Look:

HALEIGHFORMAL5

Haleigh opted for the chic-est look of all, and yet somehow the easiest to throw-on-and-go!

HALEIGHFORMAL6

A simple drapey jersey dress looks instantly elevated when you layer a million coin necklaces over it. That’s the beauty of festival packing; you can only pack so many items, so you have to get creative with your accessory use!

HALEIGHFORMAL4

Sometimes curvy ladies shy away from drapey, flowy pieces because they think they look like sacks or that they will lose their shape. This one, however, has a slightly cinched waist that gathers pleats in such a way that it actually accentuates Haleigh’s shape!

HALEIGHFORMAL3

The ombre effect is also flattering in an unexpected way. The dark top minimizes a bust while the white hem makes one appear taller. To increase the major goddess vibes of this piece, Haleigh rocks high heels. You can also pair this look with Birkenstocks or sandals for a true Greecian vibe.

HALEIGHFORMAL2

The best part of this dress is that it works with so many looks! Go fresh-faced with a high bun and feel immediately ready to go dancing in a field, or spend a little more time glamming up like Haleigh with black lips and a cat eye and voila- instant VIP tent access.

What do you think of our formal looks? Are you bringing something similar to festival season?
